Stewardship

God Loves A Cheerful Giver

Everyday we have the chance to spend our money on all different things and experiences.  But what if we looked at our money through the eyes of Stewardship?  Looking at how we use our money as a reflection of how we take care of what God has loaned to us.  Would that change how we spend our money?  One of the best ways we can use our money is to give some away and allow God to do something amazing with it!

A Reformation Celebration

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation of the Christian Church initiated by Martin Luther on Sunday, October 29, at one service, 10:30 am, with a special quest preacher bringing the message, Reverend Melvin (Bud) Miller, former St. Paul’s pastor from the era of 1972-1984.  This will be a festival service with communion and full choir, followed by a celebratory reception.  Mark your calendars!  Help us celebrate like it’s 1517!

To help with the reception.  We are asking for your help and yummy creations!  To increase socializing we are asking for a finger food donation:  A-H garden finger food (fruit kabobs and veggie sticks), I-P starch finger foods (crackers, cheese, bread with dips), Q-Z protein finger foods (meatballs, deviled eggs).  Desserts and refreshments will be provided.  We look forward to breaking bread with past, present, and future friends!

Fall Fest

FREE Fall Fun

On Saturday, October 28th, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, St. Paul’s will be holding a FREE and fun Fall Fest.  This event is open to the community and will be full of FREE fall activities, a bounce house, face painting, food and games.  Come join in some Fall fun on our side lawn!  We are also looking for volunteers for a variety of jobs from set up/clean-up, run activity areas, greeters, and refreshment servers.  There is a sign-up in the Gathering Space.  Come join us in a fun way to serve St. Paul’s and our community.  Any questions, contact Beth Heisey at betstewart10@gmail.com

Operation:

Christmas Child

The “Shoe Box Ministry” is going on now.  Want to participate with us?  Pick up a “shoe box” from the table in the Gathering Space, choosing either a boy or a girl box.  Follow the instructions enclosed in each box and shop for the child you have chosen.  Return the “shoe box” by Sunday, November 5th to the table.  The Outreach MAT will take care of the rest.  (You are asked for a donation of $9.00 in addition to the items you have purchased.  This money is used to help with shipping and for the printing and distribution of Gospel stories which are included in each shoe box.  Checks can be made out to:  St. Paul’s Lutheran; memo line–Operation Christmas Child.)

Stewardship

Parable of the Talents

In the Parable of the Talents the people listening are left wondering how they are caring for what’s been entrusted to them.  We need to remember that what we have actually belongs to God and that God makes it possible for us to have those things.  along with that we have the responsibility to use our things (or our time, talents, & money) wisely.  How can you best use your things?  How can you use what you have to do something positive in the world?

Everything Belong To The Lord

It’s hard for anyone to refocus how they think about their stuff.  We need to look at everything we have as being a gift on loan to us from God.  Because of that, how we take care of what we have matters.  Remembering that everything belongs to God is the first step in choosing to use what we have wisely.  How can you treat everything like it belongs to God?
