“Simply Give”

For God’s Storehouse

This program, that helps stock our “God’s Storehouse” food pantry, is once again being sponsored by Meijers in Maumee on Conant Street and Sunday, May 14th is the last day.  It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:  1) Pick up a blue/green “Simply Give” slip from the box in the Gathering Space.  2) Take the slip with you when you shop at Meijers and present it to the cashier.  3) He/she will add your $10.00 donation to your shopping total.  That’s it!  Your $10 donation will be tallied.  At the end of the program, St. Paul’s will be given your monetary donations in the form of gift cards which we can use to restock the God’s Storehouse.  The Outreach MAT would like to thank you, in advance, for helping others by your generosity!

4th Annual

Spring Clean-Up

In the past, we’ve had some extraordinary volunteers and the Boy Scouts who have helped clean up the grounds and plant flowers around the church to make everything look beautiful. We are planning another Spring cleanup and flower planting on Saturday, May 13th, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.  Do you need any experience in gardening?  No just a willingness to serve. Bring any rakes, shovels or weed clippers you might have, dress for getting dirty, and join us for a fun morning of fellowship and weeding!  Meet in the church parking lot at 8:00 am!

Determination

Determination – Deciding it’s worth it to finish what you started.

Through out the Bible, God has been faithful to His people.  He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us from sin, and He sent the Holy Spirit to empower us.  Paul wrote “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good.  At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9 – NLT) to the church at Philippi.  He was encouraging them and us to show determination and keep doing good even if we don’t see any results immediately.  In time, God will help us see that finishing what we start is worth all the effort.

Life isn’t always easy, but God will give us what we need to keep going.  Through the help of the Holy Spirit we can push forward instead of giving up.  We can trust God because He knows the end of the story.

FREE Workshop

For Seniors & Caregivers

Everyone ages.  We all experience predictable, natural changes as we age, as well as unanticipated ones.  It is wise to prepare for all stages of life but, especially, for the senior years when we begin to slow down.  Seniors & caregivers of seniors are invited to a special 2-day workshop.  It’ll be a time of sharing concerns and planning for the future.  Explore some of the options and care available to you as you age and learn to navigate your way through those choices.  The first day, Thursday, May 11, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, has caregiver focus.  The second, Friday, May 12, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, has a housing options focus.  The workshop is free and open to the public.  Come for both days or just one.  The presenter is our own Joyce Oravecz.  Joyce has a Gerontological Certificate from Lourdes University and brings over a decade of experience sharing her passion for the aging population.

FREE Movie Night

April’s Movie

Hidden Figures

This month’s movie is based on a true story of a team of African-American women who provide NASA with important mathematical data needed to launch the program’s first successful space missions.  We will be raffling off a copy of the movie at the end of the night to a lucky audience member.  We will also be polling the audience to determine our next month’s movie.  So join us on April 28th at 7:00 pm to enjoy a good movie, free popcorn, a chance to win the movie and make your input for the next movie we show!

Follow Up

St. Paul’s Easter Egg Hunt

Thank you to all who came out and supported our annual Community Easter Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast!  On Saturday, April 15th, St. Paul’s front lawn was covered with almost 3,000 eggs and lots of eager kids ready to hunt for them.  Families filed the fellowship hall after the egg hunt for a pancake breakfast and craft.  We had a wonderful turnout from the community and congregation.  Thanks to everyone who contributed in any way from donations, egg hiding, pancake flipping, and craft teaching.

See a slide show of the event on St. Paul’s Facebook page!
